Terms of Service

Block Insights measures how far readers get through your pages. These Terms say what you may do with the plugin, what happens if a licence ends, and what we do and do not promise about the numbers it produces.

1. Who you are agreeing with

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding contract between you (“you”, “Customer”) and Nishihata Engineering Co., Ltd. (有限会社西畑エンジニアリング), operating its web division as One Craft (“we”, “us”, “One Craft”), the provider of Block Insights and operator of blockinsights-wp.com (together, the “Service”).

By installing, activating, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and “you” refers to that company.

2. The Service

The Service consists of:

There is a free version of the Plugin, published on WordPress.org as “OneCraft Block Insights” under the GPL. It performs the measurement. It does not include Before/After comparison, the client report or the CSV export: those three require the paid build and a licence key. Except where these Terms say otherwise, they govern the paid build and the Site.

3. Licence

3.1 What we grant you

Subject to your continued compliance with these Terms, we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install, activate, and use the Plugin on one website.

The licence does not expire. There is only one plan, and it is bought once.

You may install the Plugin on a site you operate for your own client. Each WordPress installation counts as one site; a second site needs a second licence.

3.2 What a licence controls

A licence controls three features, not the measurements and not the everyday screens. Without an active licence, the Plugin continues to assign block IDs, load its measurement script, and write reader data to your own database. The Reports screen, the editor sidebar, the settings screen, the coverage check and the manual keep working too. What a licence unlocks is Before/After comparison, the client report and the CSV export; those three are locked until a licence is activated. Data recorded while a licence was inactive is included in all three as soon as a licence is activated.

This is a deliberate design choice so that time spent without an active licence does not leave a permanent gap in your history. It is not a promise that any particular screen will remain unlocked without payment.

3.3 GPL components

The Plugin's PHP code is licensed under GPL v2 or later. The Plugin's CSS, JavaScript, fonts, and images are licensed under their respective licences (see the plugin documentation). Your use of GPL components is governed by the GPL, but your right to receive updates, support, and licence activation through our licensing provider is conditional on these Terms.

To purchase, you must create an account with accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase the Service.

5. Payment

5.1 Price

Block Insights is a one-time purchase for one site. You pay once. There is no subscription, no renewal and no recurring charge.

Pricing is shown on the pricing section of the Site. We may change the price at any time; a change affects new purchases only — never a licence you have already bought.

5.2 Evaluating before purchase

The free version is how you evaluate the Plugin before paying. It is published on WordPress.org as “OneCraft Block Insights”, has no time limit, and simply leaves out the three paid features. The home page at blockinsights-wp.com is a live demonstration as well: it measures your own reading of it, using the same rules the Plugin applies to your visitors. There is no free trial of the paid build and no refund window, so read what the Plugin cannot measure before you buy — see the Refund Policy.

5.3 No subscription

Nothing renews and nothing is charged again. There is no subscription to cancel and no paid period to run out. The only things that end a licence are a refund, a chargeback, or a termination under section 10 — see the Refund Policy.

5.4 Taxes

Prices are quoted exclusive of applicable taxes. You are responsible for any sales tax, VAT, GST, consumption tax, or similar taxes that apply in your jurisdiction.

5.5 Payment processing

Payments, licence issuance and plugin updates are handled by Freemius, which acts as merchant of record for the sale. By purchasing, you also agree to Freemius's terms and privacy policy. Your receipt and order number come from Freemius.

6. Refunds

Block Insights is sold without a refund window. A refund after purchase is at our discretion, decided case by case; we neither promise one nor rule one out. A chargeback ends the licence in the same way a refund does.

7. Updates and support

Your purchase includes plugin updates and email support with no time limit. There is no renewal to buy to keep them. We aim to respond to support requests within 2 business days.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected on a specific schedule.

8. Your site, your content, your data

Your content is yours. We claim no ownership over content you create, and the Plugin never sends your content, your visitors' data, or your measurements to us or to anyone else. Everything the Plugin measures is written to your own WordPress database and stays there.

To attribute measurements to individual blocks, the Plugin writes a short identifier attribute (biId) into your post content. Removing the Plugin, or running its strip command, removes those identifiers and restores your post content to its previous bytes. Posts whose content would not survive a parse/serialise round trip are left untouched and reported as skipped.

You are responsible for your own compliance obligations to your visitors, including any notice or consent requirements that apply to you. Section 3 of the Privacy Policy describes what the Plugin does and does not record.

9. Intellectual property

The Plugin's design system, aesthetics, templates, branding, documentation, and the blockinsights-wp.com website are owned by Nishihata Engineering Co., Ltd. or its licensors, subject to the GPL terms above. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our trademarks or branding.

10. Termination

Your licence does not expire, and there is no subscription to cancel. A refund or a chargeback ends the licence. We may also suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms us, other users, or any third party. We will attempt to give notice when feasible.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

About the numbers specifically: the Plugin measures in the visitor's browser. Reach, dwell and click figures are directional rather than audited. Ad blockers, unusual browsers, prerendering, caching layers and network failures all cost measurements. Use the figures to compare sections within a page; do not use them as a system of record, for billing, or as the basis of any claim against a third party.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, operate without interruption, or be free from errors. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ONE CRAFT'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE LICENCE.

ONE CRAFT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages; in those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold One Craft harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right, including any obligation you owe your own site's visitors.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nagoya, Japan.

If you are a consumer resident in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection law, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection afforded by that law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page and by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
